Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between School District and Craftsman with Character
This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is entered into by and between the School District, hereinafter referred to as "the District," and Craftsman with Character, hereinafter referred to as "CWC."
Background:
Craftsman With Character is a program aimed at instilling ethical values, skills, and principles of craftsmanship among students through pre-apprenticeship experiences. The program is based on the guiding philosophy known as the Craftsman's Code.
Purpose:
The purpose of this MoU is to outline the terms and conditions under which the Craftsman with Character program will be implemented within the District’s high school(s).
Agreement:
Implementation: The District agrees to implement the Craftsman With Character program within its schools, integrating the principles of the Craftsman's Code into the curriculum with fidelity, supporting students to engage in the course as designed by CWC.
Curriculum Integration: The District will work collaboratively with CWC to incorporate the teachings of the Craftsman's Code providing students with opportunities to develop skills and ethical values through the curriculum and exposure to businesses through the mentoring portion of the course.
Training and Support: CWC agrees to provide training and support to school and business partners involved in the implementation of the program, ensuring they are equipped to effectively deliver the curriculum and mentor students according to the principles of the Craftsman's Code.
Student Participation: The District will identify eligible students who may benefit from participating in the pre-apprenticeship experiences offered through the Craftsman With Character program. Students and their parents will be required to sign agreements indicating their commitment to upholding the principles of the Craftsman's Code throughout their participation.
Monitoring and Evaluation: The District and CWC will collaborate to monitor the progress and effectiveness of the program through Facilitator Training and engaged support through the first year of implementation and adjusting strategies as needed to ensure success.
Resource Allocation: Both parties will allocate resources as necessary to support the successful implementation and sustainability of the program within the District's schools. CWC will provide training for School Onboarding, Mentors, and Facilitators in addition to providing each school with a toolkit of resources to support implementation.
Term:
This MoU shall become effective upon the date of the District submitting this form and shall remain in effect for the school year of implementation and any subsequent school years if the CWC program continues.
This Memorandum of Understanding signifies the commitment of both parties to collaborate in implementing the Craftsman With Character program for the betterment of students within the District.
